Sorry that this post is a bit overdue. But I wanted to share with everyone the wonderful experience 19 Senior High students and leaders had serving in a little town in upstate New York in June. The little town of Warrensburg nestled in the beautiful Adirondack mountains experienced record breaking heat the week we were there. However students served joyfully in a variety of ways that included; painting a church, visiting the elderly in nursing homes, lots of gardening and neighborhood beautification, helped at a man's house turned llama farm, and even worked on an outdoor mosaic among others. It always amazes people that high school students choose to give up a week of their summer vacation and work and sweat in a town far away from the comforts of home in the hot sun among strangers. But to us at MPC serving others is where life really is. We also got to see some of the local sights and went hiking, visited a natural stones and caves park and found every ice cream parlor we could. We stopped in Buffalo on the way home and visited Niagra Falls as we debreifed our time together. Thanks as always for your support as you send us out into the world!
