Saturday May 14th was Memorial Park Church's 2nd annual Compassion Day. Over 200 MPC members gathered together that morning to be sent out in different groups to serve in a variety of ways to our community and the communities surrounding us. The youth group had about 30 students both Jr and Sr high participate. We went to the North Side to serve one of our local mission partners, The Pittsburgh Project http://www.pittsburghproject.org/ . We worked at the park across the street from their buildings pulling knotweed. The park has seen crime in recent years and TPP took on responsibility to care for it to make it a better place for the neighborhood and a less ideal place for illegal activity. We enjoyed our time at the park working hard and pulling weeds for hours, some of them over 6 feet tall! It was such a joy to serve the community and share the love of Jesus through such a simple thing as pulling weeds. It was wonderful to be part of our church being sent out and we look forward to many more times of loving and serving together.

Night on the town
Each year in early May we get all dressed up and go out for a night for no other purpose than having fun and enjoying each others company while enjoying the sights and acting like tourists in our own beautiful city. This year we dined at the Hard Rock Cafe then went up to Mt Washington and took a ton of fun pictures. Enjoy! We sure did!
